What is Studio Romolo Atelier?
Studio Romolo Atelier is a studio art school led by renowned sculptor Romolo Del Deo. The focus is on refreshing art instruction through new approaches to creating with old master techniques and materials. This is the foundation of Long Art.
What type of instruction does Studio Romolo Atelier offer?
Our workshops provide hands-on instruction in sculpture techniques using traditional materials and methods. Students will learn from Romolo Del Deo himself in his studio.
Is the Studio Romolo Atelier program accredited.
The program itself is not accredited, however we have worked with undergraduate and graduate schools in the past to provide special study credits for college
Where is the Cape Cod Location of Studio Romolo Atelier?
The Cape Cod programs take place in a Provincetown North Light Studio built according to historic tradition, specifically for teaching sculpture. The studio is located in the East end of town, known for its concentration of galleries, studios and museum spaces. The program operates 5 days a week, M-F from 1-4PM.
Where is the Tuscany Location of Studio Romolo Atelier?
The Tuscany programs take place in takes place in the Renaissance Tuscan Villa Casone D’Arte located in the art community of Casoli di Camaiore, famed for its public art, in the region of Pietrasanta. The villa was reimagined in the 1960’s by sculptor Rosario Murabito, specifically to address the needs of sculptors and now restored as an artists home and studio.
What is the accessibility for the programs
There is free parking at both sites. The studios are wheelchair accessible. The villa itself is not wheelchair accessible.
What language is the instruction conducted in? Do I need to learn Italian for the Tuscan program?
Instruction for all programs in the US and Italy is in English. Special instruction in Italian is possible.
What experience is required?
Unless specifically stated in the program notes, there are no previous training requirements.
What forms of payment are accepted? Do you accept deposits
We accept credit cards, Zelle payments, PayPal, ACH and Wire Transfers. We also accept partial payment as deposits, but do not reserve space in our programs prior to payment in full.
How do I apply? What documentation will I receive?
You apply by either clicking the appropriate link on the website or contacting us by email. We will consider your application and send you payment information if you are accepted. Once we receive your tuition payment we will issue a receipt from Studio Romolo LLC and send a confirmation email of your enrollment.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
We will refund in full up until 30 days before the start of the program. Cancellations after the 30 day window will not be refunded however we can create a credit for a future Studio Romolo Atelier program.
What is your enrollment and admission policy?
The Studio School is limited to 4-6 participants per program. There is no preparation requirement, all levels of accomplishment are encouraged; however, SRA reserves the right to refuse an applicant if deemed unsuitable.
What is materials are provided and what do I need to bring?
Unless stated otherwise, all workshops provide all necessary materials. There are no additional fees. Participants should be dressed to work in the studio and prepared to get dirty. Work smocks recommended, hand moisturizer suggested, surgical gloves if you have skin sensitivities.
